METAL MASTERY
Dylan is a one-man operation based in Burleigh Heads, specialising in handcrafted motorcycle builds, one-off parts, and everything in between. With over 15 years in the industry, Dylan began his trade as a boilermaker before moving into fabrication, specialty welding, and machining, and more recently, metal shaping. Driven by a deep passion for riding motorcycles, it was a natural progression for him to focus exclusively on motorcycle work. His pursuit is to preserve the art of handcrafted motorcycles and components, maintaining the highest level of quality in an era where true craftsmanship is increasingly rare.
Fabricator
Founded by Jim Semple, Semple Solutions blends design, fabrication, engineering and art to create custom pieces that evoke feeling and enhance any space. Jim’s journey began back in year 10 tech class when he built a fire pit and discovered his passion for metalwork. After finishing school, he picked up a gasless MIG and a grinder and more than a decade later, that spark has evolved into a business known for precision craftsmanship and creative design. Specialising in bespoke fabrication, Jim focuses on efficiency, accuracy and an understanding of material properties to deliver projects that stand out. His recent wavy pool fence design is a great example, where a Hafco 45T press paired with a custom die made light work of a challenging job, combining form, function and artistry in one.
Artist
Amber is a passionate emerging metal artist and the creative mind behind Armii Creations. After being introduced to metalworking through a friend’s workshop, she quickly fell in love with the process of shaping and forming steel by hand. With a background in creative expression and a growing interest in fabrication, Amber now uses metal as her medium to bring imagination into reality. Her work blends artistic flair with craftsmanship, transforming raw materials into detailed sculptural pieces — like her handcrafted rose that earned her the #HFCreators September win. Amber continues to expand her skills as she explores new techniques and pushes herself further into the world of metal art.
Metal Fabricator
Vincent is a creator who loves turning ideas into reality. By day he runs a manufacturing business in New Zealand and by night he applies those same professional skills to ambitious custom projects in his own workshop. His builds cover everything from precision design in SolidWorks to sheet metal work, welding, fabrication, woodworking and even 3D printing. For Vincent, it’s not just a hobby but a way to use professional-grade techniques on unique personal projects. His goal is to share the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands and to inspire others along the way.
Self-proclaimed Handyman
Benny considers himself a self-proclaimed handyman. During COVID he started his own welding business to make ends meet, building gym equipment from scratch in his garage. He’s always been into engineering, welding, fabrication, repairs and engines, but now machining has become his new dream hobby. He first visited Hare & Forbes back when the store was still on South Gippsland Highway, and he still drops in regularly to check out the gear and daydream about new projects. These days Benny helps his mates with their metalworking projects and builds things in his garage for his YouTube channel. His next plan is to build a tiny alloy one-person boat, fully TIG welded.
Sculptor / Plasma cutter / Welder
Colleen’s creative journey is an incredible one. After completing a Fine Arts degree at Charles Darwin University at just 20, she spent years gaining life experience working with crocodiles, training horses, running a mattress factory and even a remote outback pub. When she moved to Beaudesert ten years ago, pregnant and facing one of the coldest winters on record, she decided she needed a firepit. Armed with a grinder with less than satisfying results she jumped online to learn how to cut steel, and that’s when she met her very first plasma cutter. From that moment she was hooked. 🔥 Since then, Colleen has been sculpting non-stop, with her works now spanning public installations, private collectors and commissioned pieces. Her latest creation will be featured at @swellsculpture Sculpture Festival, 12th to 21st September which is an amazing achievement.
